Comics in the Classroom website!
I'm excited to be able to let everyone know of a website I came across recently. It was by accident, but it's exactly the type of website I have been looking (and hoping) for. Scott Tingley has made a site that will lay out how teachers can use published comics to teach kids a variety of new information. More information can be found on the ComicsInTheClassroom.com page.

Three more audio interviews added!
Over the last month I have been able to interview some really interesting people. They include Jeff Smith of Bone fame, Jaime Buckley of Wanted Hero Comics, and Bill Bean and Peter Fokos of Digital Praise. All three of these interviews may be found on the Multimedia page.

Out of This World #4: Victory Through Motivation!
The first story arc of OOTW comes to a close with the release of Issue #4: Victory Through Motivation. In this issue we watch as Max works hard and stays motivated to make up for his past mistake. Will he and the rest of the team locate and save Tiglos in time? Just like the previous comics, Issue #4 contains reproducible activities which encourage growth and development. New TherapyToolbox.com Radio Internet Talkshow interview.
I recently interviewed Gene Yang regarding his website and online comic book, "Factoring with Mr. Yang and Mosley". Gene used a comic format to take kids through the step by step process of Algebra and the world of factoring. This is a great site for anyone with a Mathematics Learning Disorder. Gene also has written a history of comics in education which fans of OOTW will enjoy. The interview can be heard by visiting the Multimedia page.

Out of This World #3: The Importance of Concentration!
The first comic book series aimed at assisting kids with pro-social behaviors continues with the release of Issue #3: The Importance of Concentration. In this issue was watch as Max struggles with concentration, which has devastating ramifications for the rest of the team. As always, this comic contains reproducible activities, which encourage growth and development. Read more about it on the Comic Books page.

I recently had the pleasure of sitting down and interviewing Brian Fies regarding his comic book, "Mom's Cancer". Brian used the comic format to capture the impact his mother's diagnosis of cancer had on his family throughout her treatment. The interview can be heard by visiting the Multimedia page.

Two new articles added regarding Video Games and children.
Using OOTW comic books in counseling and schools is only the tip of the iceberg. Interactive media is coming. In my two new articles I give my ideas on how Video Games can be used for counseling and how to protect children from Mature games.

Eric and I continue to work on #3 of the series, dealing with the importance of Concentration. This issue does not end well for Max, who makes a crucial mistake. Work on #4 (Motivation for success) will begin soon! More information and art are coming!
